Vitamins are nutrients that the body requires for normal cell function, growth and development. There are 13 essential vitamins: vitamins A, C, D, E and K along with the eight B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folate). Each vitamin plays an important role in body function and all vitamins are necessary for good health. The best way for an individual to ensure that he or she is consuming adequate amounts of vitamins is to adhere to a healthy diet that includes a variety of nutrient-dense, plant foods.

It’s no secret that many people consume steroid hormones on a daily basis—oh wait, didn’t you know? Ok, well from the FDA:?

“Since the 1950s, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a number of steroid hormone drugs for use in beef cattle and sheep, including natural estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and their synthetic versions. These drugs increase the animals’ growth rate and the efficiency by which they convert the feed they eat into meat.”
