Over the past decade, the word “core” has become a very popular buzzword within the fitness community. There are many fitness product commercials and websites that equate the strengthening of one’s core to improved athletic performance. However, like many health-related topics, the true importance of the core is hidden underneath a commonly held misconception: that strengthening the core leads to improved performance.
